Why we replaced 6 service tiles with a 4-layer Solution Matrix

Our old taxonomy was 6 tiles: GEO · Social & Content · AI-Commerce · Data Intelligence · Influencer & PR · Brand Knowledge Base. The new one is 4 strategic layers × 9 Total Solutions × 6 GEO add-ons. Here's why a flat list became a hierarchy — and what we tell clients picking a starting point.

The old 6-tile taxonomy was honest about what we did, but it told clients nothing about how to choose. "GEO" and "AI-Commerce" sounded like adjacent things you could pick à la carte. "Influencer & PR" and "Social & Content" overlapped in execution. "Brand Knowledge Base" was a layer that lived inside other tiles, not a tile of its own. Every sales conversation started by re-explaining the taxonomy.

The new framework is a 4-layer Solution Matrix — AI Visibility · Performance Marketing · E-commerce Closed-Loop · Private-Domain LTV. Each layer has a clear strategic role: AI Visibility compounds over time (the asset), Performance Marketing delivers deterministic ROAS (the stabilizer), E-commerce Closed-Loop drives direct GMV (the cashflow core for DTC brands), and Private-Domain LTV is the algorithm-independent moat. The 9 Total Solutions slot into these layers; the 6 GEO Enhancement add-ons bolt onto any solution.

The single biggest tell that the new taxonomy is working: pricing conversations got faster. Old taxonomy made clients feel like they were buying 6 separate things and had to pick. New taxonomy makes them realize they're building a system, and the question becomes "which 2-3 layers do I start with given my archetype?" — which is exactly the question the Customer Combo Recommendation Matrix answers.

For builders / strategists: the taxonomy lives in `solutions.ts` as a single source of truth, consumed by both the homepage Services section and the Solution Matrix deep-dive. Schema.org `hasOfferCatalog` mirrors the same hierarchy in JSON-LD so AI engines see the same structure as humans do. Source-of-truth + hierarchy + customer-archetype recommendation = a taxonomy that sells itself.
